Saturn Alien has developed a mandate to play music that has never been heard. It's a beautiful challenge. Drawing on jazz personailty and structure, every piece has been designed as a vessel for sweet fucking solos.
In the beginning, members Mike Baelde (Guitar) Andy Burns (Keyboards) and Kieran Jarvis (Drums) would meet in a Vancouver Basement for a weekly free jazz, avant rock, math folk freak out. The group was soon joined by Kevin Geloso (Bass) In what is now their home city, Montréal. Three years and months of touring later they are still making the most hideous of noises.
Since working with singer Louis Butterfield (2013-2015) the imperative has shifted to music that is served by vocals as a compositional device rather than being the focus.
